Slow Slow Green Time: Yasuhito Kawasaki Exhibition

Exhibition Overview

The solo exhibition "Slow Slow Green Time" by Japanese artist Yasuhito Kawasaki offers a profound dialogue between humanity and the natural world. Featuring a collection of delicate paintings and imaginative three-dimensional ceramic sculptures, the exhibition invites viewers to pause and reflect on our relationship with the environment.

Creative Inspiration

Inspired by the "Bear Sighting" phenomenon that garnered significant attention in Japan in late 2025, Kawasaki explores the underlying ecological causality. He investigates how single-species forest plantation disrupts ecological balance, leading to food scarcity for wildlife and forcing animals down from the mountains. His work serves as a poignant reminder of the conflict between immediate societal demands and long-term ecological sustainability.

Highlights

• A Microcosm of Nature: Kawasaki condenses grand environmental themes into miniature ceramic sculptures, portraying gentle scenes of coexistence between humans and animals.
• Artistic Evolution: Moving from his earlier focus on subconscious self-portraits, the artist now turns his lens toward pressing societal and environmental issues, encouraging a long-term perspective on our relationship with the planet.
