Growth Ring x Alvdalen: Ripples and Pulses between the Rings - Joint Woodcraft Exhibition

Highlights

'Ripples and Pulses between the Rings' is an artistic dialogue about rebirth and ecology. The exhibition focuses on the transformation of fallen wood, often deemed 'waste', into vibrant, meaningful art. Through this exhibition, visitors can appreciate the intricate craftsmanship of woodwork and gain a deeper understanding of the symbiotic relationship between humans and our natural resources.

Program

This joint exhibition showcases the graduation works of 12 students from the 'Growth Ring' project, sponsored by the Chan Chang Charity Foundation, following six months of intensive woodworking training. Each piece celebrates the unique grain and historical character of the wood. Furthermore, the exhibition features a conceptual installation, 'Nature of Life: Pulses of the Forest', by the 2026–2027 Artist-in-Residence, Alvdalen. Inspired by forest owls, Alvdalen offers a new perspective on the forest, unveiling the hidden and complex life connections within.

Venue & Access

The exhibition is hosted at Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden on Lam Kam Road, Tai Po. As a hub for nature conservation, the garden provides the perfect natural backdrop for an exhibition exploring the life of trees. Visitors can reach the venue via bus or private car; please refer to the garden's official website for detailed transportation guidance.

Ticketing

This exhibition is included with the admission ticket to Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden. Ticket prices are as follows:

• Aged 12–59: HK$50
• Aged 4–11: HK$25
• Aged 60+ or eligible disabled persons: HK$20
• Children under 4: Free

Note: Various woodcraft workshops, ranging from small wood plate carving to family wood stool making and parent-child wood engraving, were scheduled during the exhibition period. Please note that all workshops are currently fully booked. Please stay tuned for future announcements.
