Overview
The Tap Mun Tern Festival 2026 invites you to join an event that combines ecological education with cultural discovery. Boarding the "Tern" vessel, participants will embark on a journey through Tolo Harbour and Tern Island to explore the unique ecosystems and learn about the habits and conservation of terns. The festival continues with a vibrant carnival at Tap Mun, offering a wide array of activities for all ages.
Program Highlights
- Tern Eco-Tour (09:15 – 12:00): Cruise to Port Island (Chek Chau) and Tern Island, learning about tern ecology and conservation methods.
- Tern Carnival (12:00 – 15:45):
- Cultural Experiences: Including fishing village attire photo opportunities, nostalgia displays, history exhibition at the Tap Mun Youth Association, and a guided tour of the 300-year-old Tin Hau Temple.
- Workshops: Wood painting, mosaic magnet making, and face painting.
- Local Delicacies: Tasting local snacks and delicacies at the fishing village.
- Engagement & Conservation: Booth games and coastal cleanup activities.
- Return Journey (15:45 – 17:00): Boat trip returning to Ma Liu Shui.
Ticketing
- Standard Ticket: HK$220 (Includes boat trip, 3 festival tokens, commemorative pack, and personal insurance).
- Add-on: HK$20 (Tap Mun Eco-Tour, must be booked with standard ticket).

- In case of adverse weather (Yellow Rainstorm Warning or Typhoon Signal No. 3 or above issued by 07:15 AM), the event will be cancelled or postponed.
