The Sun Museum proudly presents its flagship biennial, "The 2nd Sai Yuen Lane Painting Selection." This exhibition is a testament to the thriving local art scene, featuring 118 selected works from 93 local artists chosen from over 700 open-call submissions. Every piece on display is an original creation from 2024 or later, making its public debut in Hong Kong, which ensures a vibrant and contemporary collection.
Exhibition Overview
Embracing an ethos of "openness and inclusion," the exhibition brings together a diverse array of creators, ranging from established masters to hidden, self-taught artists. The collection offers a comprehensive look at the human landscape, urban life, and the inherent creative spirit of modern Hong Kong, serving as an essential visual archive of the current era.
Exhibition Phases
To allow each artwork to be properly showcased and to give viewers ample time to immerse themselves in the different styles, the event is divided into two themed phases:
- Phase 1 (June 26 – August 20, 2026): Features themes of "Cityscapes" and "Portraits."
- Phase 2 (August 29 – October 18, 2026): Highlights themes of "Landscapes," "Flora and Fauna," and "Abstract Art."
Visitor Information
Admission to the exhibition is free of charge. We invite all art enthusiasts to visit and experience the diverse perspectives of local contemporary painting.
Venue & Access
The exhibition is held at the Sun Museum, located on the G/F & 1/F, The Artisan House, 1 Sai Yuen Lane, Sai Ying Pun, Hong Kong. Visitors can easily reach the venue by taking the MTR to Sai Ying Pun station.
